Shah Rukh Khan’s production house to remake Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah’s ‘Darlings’ in Tamil & Telugu: Report – Times of India

According to a news portal, Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies which co-produced the film along with Alia Bhatt’s production house is planning to remake the film in Tamil and Telugu as well.
Gaurav Verma, Producer and COO, Red Chillies Entertainment, confirmed the development to Pinkvilla saying, that their team had the script of Darlings with them for a while now and through the journey of making it, they’ve decided to make it in multiple languages. The film has a certain landscape that can be adapted very well in multiple languages. The process has also begun apparently.
When asked about the idea of tweaking the film as per local sensibilities, Gaurav added that the story remains the same, but they will be localizing it. As Darlings was a story set in Mumbai, they are planning to create a different world for Tamil and Telugu and localize the characters and their reactions.
Speaking about ‘Darlings’ warm recipient, Gaurav shares that it’s very rare to come across a film that does well commercially and critically. “We are all overwhelmed with the response. It’s good to be at the receiving end,” he concludes. The casting and other aspects of Darlings for the Tamil and Telugu are yet to be decided.
