PM Modi pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on I-Day

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted people on the country’s 76th Independence Day.

In his address to the nation, the ninth consecutive time, Modi paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. He also hoisted the tricolour at the Fort ramparts.

Earlier, in the day, he tweeted: “Greetings on this very special Independence Day. Jai Hind.”

The August 15 ceremony is particularly significant this year as it marks the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

The government has planned a host of exercises to add to the verve around the celebration.
