Migrants workers brutally assaulted after they thwart theft bid in Trivandrum; four injured
Thiruvananthapuram: Four migrant workers were brutally attacked for preventing a robbery near their residence in Karumam.
The injured are Nirmal Roy(22), Arbin (32), Fatrik Fujin (29), and Vasanthroy (30), all hailing from West Bengal.
On Sunday night, the workers of Hollow Bricks Company in Madhupalam, Karumam, apprehended a person who tried to break into a shed near the company.
The workers locked him up inside the shed and left. However, the thief managed to escape, returned later with a group of people and assaulted the workers. The accused vandalised the property and attacked the workers using blunt objects.
The injured were rushed to medical college. A complaint was also filed with the police. It is suspected that a drug mafia is behind the attack.
